So it has been some time since my last post and that is mainly due to the movement to 8th edition, I was at warhammer fest when it was announced that heresy would be staying with 7th edition which caused me no end of issues. Firstly because to be honest 7th edition did not really work for me, it simply was not that balanced and as such I was not that keen to stick with it any longer. And secondly all of my gaming group were moving to 8th edition which meant if I stuck with heresy I would be bereft of opponents to game against which defeats the whole point of it.
Therefore I gave it some thought and decided to return to a 40k army which I had been collecting before I got lured in to heresy which is the imperial guard (or as they are now known the Astra Militarum) with the intention of being able to reuse a lot of the models from my old collection - typically that resolution lasted almost no time and I decided that I would instead return to forge world to start collecting probably my absolute favorite line of models in the death korps of krieg and since then I have collected a pretty substantial force which I have been having quite reasonable success with even if they are essentially under powered imperial guard, they are still awesome models and I have been enjoying getting them painted even if I have not been painting as many of them as I probably should have.
These are some early pictures from the painting of the army and was pretty much the sample model but I think it conveys the tone I was aiming for, I am trying to get to something pretty much like end of WW1 German infantry in the trenches
I have now started on another project as well to continue to develop my options some more, especially since such an awesome range has been released and that project is 40k Death Guard
And this is definitely the test model that new force which I think is starting to look reasonable.
So still here and still painting and will be aiming to continue to put up more pictures of the progress i am making with both of these forces going forward.
